Delays In Repairing Wall On Harbour Road

March 26, 2021

“Inclement weather and the inability to source local materials has resulted in considerable delays in completing repairs to the wall” on Harbour Road, the Government has advised.

A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works can advise the public that inclement weather and the inability to source local materials has resulted in considerable delays in completing repairs to the wall located on Harbour Road in the vicinity of Burnt House Hill and Tamarind Vale.

“Furthermore, identifying an additional 50 feet of wall in need of repairs and new construction methods requiring staff training further delayed the project’s completion.

“These delays have resulted in a further extension needed to complete rebuilding the wall section on Harbour Road. To minimise traffic disruptions and ensure alternative routes are available, the Ministry will continue coordinating with the BELCO team completing trenching work on Middle Road.

“The Ministry of Public Works encourages the public’s full cooperation and apologises for any inconvenience that may result.”

There is no way this can be blamed on lack of materials. New method, this was no place to try it out. What was originally predicted to take three weeks is now close to four months. Someone’s job should be on the line for this shambles.
