Entertainment Union Tribute To Kenneth Bean

Kenny Bean Bermuda March 2021 1The Bermuda Entertainment Union expressed their condolences to the family of Kenneth “Kenny” Vivian Bean Jr who passed away on Sunday.

A spokesperson said, “It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we have to inform you that our beloved Bermuda Entertainment Union Trustee, Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Vivian Bean Jr., passed on Sunday morning, March 14, 2021, around 1:40 am.

“Kenny was Bermuda’s first limbo Dancer and held the Guinness Book of World Records for Limbo for a period of time. He was also a co-founder of the Four Bees and performed in Bryan Butterfield’s Limbo Review.

“Kenny worked as a Night Manager and Food & Beverage Manager at the Sonesta Beach Hotel for years making him one of the first Black Managers in the Bermuda Hotel Industry.

“Kenny founded Galaxy Nightclub with “Yice,” aka “Nice Yice” Wilkinson and was an Owner/Operator of the Jungle Room. In his later years, he opened the Club Azure at the former Officers’ Club at Southside in St. David’s.

“Kenny was also a Co-Founder of The Bermuda Federation of Musicians and Variety Artists, which is now known as the Bermuda Entertainment Union.

“Kenny’s son, Kevin, a BEU Trustee, along with BEU Trustee Sandra Butterfield, will be giving a proper and fitting tribute to Uncle Kenny on the “Va Va” Entertainment Show this coming Saturday, between 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on Magic 102.7 FM.

“Please keep his wife, Kathy, Bro. Kevin, his wife, Sonia, their sons, Kaje and Sammy, as well as Uncle Kenny’s entire family in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare to celebrate the life of another giant in our industry.”
