Following their Black History Month dinner last month, in celebration of academic Dr Clarence Maxwell, Hamilton Princess & Beach Club donated $2,000 to the National Museum of Bermuda – Dr Maxwell’s charity of choice.

$1,000 was donated by the hotel from the proceeds of the dinner which was then matched by the hotel’s ownership, the Green family.

Tim Morrison, General Manager of Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to support the National Museum of Bermuda who do such important work in preserving Bermuda’s heritage and educating both locals and visitors to our island about its rich history.”

Elena Strong, Director of the National Museum of Bermuda, said: “National Museum of Bermuda [NMB] is thrilled that Hamilton Princess Beach Club has honoured and celebrated Dr Clarence Maxwell and his important historical research that sheds light on Bermudian enslaved merchants and mariners, and how Bermuda helped shape the development of the Atlantic World. We so appreciate the generosity of the hotel and the Green Family, and their commitment to recognise local scholars and support Black History Month”
