PLP Extends Condolences To Bean Family

The Progressive Labour Party expressed their condolences to the family of musician Clarence “Tootsie” Bean.

A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family of musician Clarence “Tootsie” Bean.

“Clarence “Tootsie” Bean was a well renowned Bermudian musician both locally and internationally. He was an accomplished drummer, and was held in high regard by musicians both in Bermuda and the USA. During his long career, he taught and inspired many budding musicians. He was well known for playing at Bermudian hotels with numerous other Bermuda musicians.

“Some highlights of his musical career were playing at the 1993 US Presidential Inauguration, the Lincoln Centre, and at Carnegie Hall. He also had the opportunity to play with the late Lance Hayward, the late Ruth Brown, and the late Irene Reid. Tootsie was able to utilize his musical talents all over the world.

“He was the recipient of many awards in his life, culminating with the Queen’s Award.

“The Progressive Labour Party salutes Clarence “Tootsie’ Bean for a life well lived, and for making our world sound a little more beautiful. His life in music should serve as an inspiration to those coming behind him. We extend our condolences to his wife Stella and his children. May you be comforted by the memories of your husband and father.“
