A number of local businesses donated pens for the vaccination programme with an aim to ”create a better experience for individuals by having pens available that did not need to be shared or wiped off with alcohol between uses.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Health Council thanks AXA XL, Chubb, Willis Towers Watson, and Zurich for the donation of pens for the Close to Home Mobile Vaccination Programme.

“This donation represents one of the many contributions of the community in an ongoing effort to support the health and safety of others. The Health Council is working with the Department of Health and other organizations to coordinate the needs of the community to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to access the Covid vaccines.”

Health Council CEO, Dr. Ricky Brathwaite said, “We are trying to make the experience of those who come for vaccinations to be as smooth and pleasant as possible. When reviewing our process, we knew that we could create a better experience for individuals by having pens available that did not need to be shared or wiped off with alcohol between uses.

“This is not just about serving the residents of Bermuda, but doing it well. So we thank these companies for their contribution of something as useful as pens.”

“If you would like to receive more information about the Close to Home Mobile Vaccine Programme, contact the Health Council at 292-6420 or visit www.gov.bm/vaccines,” the Council added.
