Witness Appeal: Darrell’s Wharf Shooting

The 56-year-old man that was shot multiple times in the Darrell’s Wharf area in Warwick on June 16th has been transferred from the ICU to a general ward, and the police have reiterated their appeal for anyone with any information or any area residents with any CCTV footage to please contact them.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can confirm that 56-year-old man who was shot multiple times during a firearms incident which occurred around 7:30pm on Wednesday 16th June at Darrell’s Wharf in Warwick, has now been transferred from the Intensive Care Unit, to a general ward at the King Edward Hospital.

“As the investigation into this brazen daylight attack continues, and Detectives are renewing their appeal for the public’s in identifying the suspects, who escaped on a motorcycle.

  • The rider was wearing a dark coloured top and light pants.
  • The passenger [gunman] was wearing a blue jacket and dark pants.

“After the shooting, the suspects rode off headed west along Harbour Road.

“Anyone who saw the motorcycle with individuals fitting the description of the suspects or, has any information on this incident is again asked to contact the police on 211, the confidential Crime Stoppers number on 800-8477 or online at www.crimestoppers.bm.

“Investigators are once more asking that area residents with any CCTV – please check through their footage from 7pm to 8pm last Wednesday [16th June]. Any residents on Harbour Road with CCTV cameras that overlook the street, or persons with dash cameras who may have driven through the area at or around the time of the shooting, are urged to get in contact with us and provide any information you may have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to help bring the perpetrators to justice.”

Thanking those members of the public who have already come forward to assist, Chief Inspector Peter Stableford of the Serious Crime Unit reiterated: “We do understand the pain this causes the families and the fear this causes the community and a plan is in place to ensure we have the necessary resources to fully investigate this matter, but we still need your help.
