Butterfield said, “What a race, it really is one of the best out there. Thanks to all the organizers, staff at Ironman, police, and volunteers that make it possible.

“Huge congrats to Sam Long for absolutely crushing it out there, clocking a winning time of 3:3:35. It’s really been fun to get a peek at Sam’s training and follow his races. We all know he’s a beast, but awesome to see he has his beast mode dialed, as scary as it is to his competitors. Also congrats Sam Appleton impressive second-place finish and, Collin Chartier congrats on strong 3rd.

“Personally, I had to be happy with my race, amazing to be out there with the Boulder crowds in our adopted home with so many friends and family cheering. Thanks to everyone that supported.”
