Governor Tours Verdmont Historic House
Governor Rena Lalgie and her family recently visited the Verdmont Historic House and Gardens, accompanied by Karen Border, Alana Anderson and Dorte Horsfield of the Bermuda National Trust.
Government House shared the photo below on social media, saying: “On 20 August the Governor and her family were delighted to tour the Verdmont Historic House and Gardens accompanied by Karen Border, Alana Anderson and Dorte Horsfield of the Bermuda National Trust.
The Governor said, “From Verdmont’s construction with the profits of piracy through its history of being maintained by enslaved people and the Bermuda National Trust’s restoration, we welcomed the opportunity to reflect on aspects of Bermuda’s heritage and valued the opportunity to reflect on some of the more difficult aspects of Bermuda’s history and heritage. I look forward to hearing and seeing more of the Trust’s plans for Verdmont’s future.”
