Robin Horsfield Continues Competing In Ontario

August 24, 2021

Robin Horsfield continued his race season on Sunday, competing in the second provincial level race of the season at Midland, Ontario.

A spokesperson said, “Once again competing in the top race of the day [requiring special qualification for entry] Horsfield continued to make a name for himself in Ontario cycling with a second place finish, missing the top position by only 34 seconds.

“Due to COVID-19 official provincial races remain time trial starts in mountain bike. Horsfield also competed in the unofficial mass start event on Saturday where he lead out the pack, breaking away with top-ranked Ontario rider Luke Hlavenka off the start and gaining 2 minutes on the rest of the field prior to suffering a classic ‘bonk’ due to nutrition mismanagement resulting in a fifth place finish.

“Horsfield was undeterred and returned on Sunday to show that he is certainly among the top 10, if not among the top 5 riders in this province of almost 14 million people.

“Horsfield has two more Ontario Cup races as well as one Canada Cup race left on his season schedule.”
