Triathletes Represent Bermuda In Ironman 70.3
Bermuda was represented by five other competitors in the 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships presented by Utah Sports Commission.
Ashley Couper, Maddie Durkin, Ricard Quinn, Daniel Samilski, and Dirk Hasselkuss all flew the Bermuda Flag competing in their respective age group divisions over a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 56 mile bike ride, and then a 13.1 mile run.
Couper finished 6th in the Female 40 – 44 Age Group Division clocking an overall time of 5:12:40, she came out of the water in a time of 34:38, Couper clocked 2:54:06 on the bike course, and then she clocked 1:37:43 on the run.
Samilski took part in the Men’s 40 – 44 Age Group Division and finished 228th with a time of 5:26:53, he covered the swim in 43:06, Samilski then clocked a time of 2:56:45 on the bike, before closing out with a time of 1:37:34 on the run.
Quinn competed in the Men’s 25 – 29 Age Group Division finishing 142nd, he clocked a time of 5:29:27, Quinn came out of the water in a time of 46:07, he then clocked 2:48:44 on the bike, then closed out with a run time of 1:47:25.
Durkin was 32nd in the Female 40 – 44 Age Group Division with a time of 5:33:45, Durkin was out of the water in 31:34, she then clocked 2:53:44 on the bike, and then closed out with a run time of 2:01:37.
Hasselkuss competed in the Men’s 55 – 59 Age Group Division finishing 167th clocking a time of 6:23:10. Hasselkuss clocked a time of 48:05 for the swim, a time of 3:15:41 for the bike course and then he completed the run in 2:09:25.
