BUEI To Screen ‘Youth Unstoppable’ On Saturday

September 28, 2021

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will present a television screening of ‘Youth Unstoppable’ documentary on Saturday, October 2nd on CITV for one time only.

A spokesperson said, “BUEI is honoured to join the global release of ‘Youth Unstoppable’ – the only documentary covering the rise of the Youth Climate Movement from the youth perspective. As inheritors of the Earth, young people have become the most important voice in the climate debate, and Youth Unstoppable offers a look into the inner workings of the movement.

Trailer for Youth Unstoppable

“Youth Unstoppable premieres at 7pm on Saturday October 2nd on CITV for one time only. Bermuda is the only country in the world that has been given the honour of screening Youth Unstoppable via television, and at the end of the film Bermudian activist Andreas Ratteray will host a live question and answer segment with the director Slater Jewell-Kemker, centred around questions posed by Bermudian viewers.

“Slater is an award-winning filmmaker and climate activist who has been making films since she was six. Her most recent work, Youth Unstoppable, juxtaposes Slater’s personal growth alongside the evolution of the Youth Climate Movement.

“At the age of 15 Slater began to travel the globe to capture the stories of the young activists putting their life on the line to fight for the world they want to live in. The film is an intimate display highlighting the diverse and expansive movements spearheaded by young people, and the importance of allowing youth to have a voice in the policies that are affecting their future.

A BUEI representative said “We are thrilled to have secured the rights to screen Youth Unstoppable on a local television station, and that CITV agreed to partner with us to make this possible. Slater’s work is truly inspirational, and we hope that it galvanizes young Bermudians towards taking collective positive action.”

“Youth Unstoppable is the first film in a series planned to spur community dialogue in advance of Bermuda’s first Youth Climate Summit being held November 22 – 27th. For more information on the Youth Climate Summit, visit www.YCSBDA.com.”
