Dr Douglas To Speak At Vanderbilt University
Bermudian Dr. Ty-Ron Douglas has been selected as a Southeastern Conference [SEC] Visiting Faculty Scholar to Vanderbilt University, with Dr. Douglas to give a keynote entitled “When Research is Insufficient: Reflections on Colonialism, Campus Uprisings, & College Sport.”
A spokesperson said, “Dr. Ty-Ron Douglas has been selected as a Southeastern Conference [SEC] Visiting Faculty Scholar to Vanderbilt University; this opportunity allows him to travel to Vanderbilt University during the 2021-22 academic year to engage in research and professional development with renown educational scholar, Dr. Rich Milner—founder of the Initiative for Race, Research & Justice and the president elect of the American Educational Research Association [AERA], the largest educational research organization in the world.
“A Bermudian professor, administrator and speaker who now serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging, Dr. Douglas was selected for the visiting scholar program through his affiliation with the University of Missouri where he has been a tenured Associate Professor of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis.
