‘Tropical Storm Warning Increasingly Likely’
A Tropical Storm Warning is “becoming increasingly likely” while it is “possible we enter into a hurricane watch to cover any changes of the projected track of Larry,” the Bermuda Weather Service said in their latest forecast discussion.
As of 8am this morning [Sept 5] the BWS also stated, “Category 3 Hurricane Larry continues to churn away in the central North Atlantic, currently located about 1,350 miles southeast of Bermuda.
“Forecast tracks are more confidently for a passage east of Bermuda, but dangerous seas offshore and hazardous surf are likely to still affect the Marine Area & south shore beaches for much of this week. Strong gusty winds may also affect us mid-week. Keep up to date at www.weather.bm.”
Both the BWS and Minister of National Security have urged the public to be prepared, noting that this is a very active hurricane season.
I hope government stops retailers from being open till wind is to dangerous to ride a bike. Our sales associates must be safe on the way home.
Use a bus. Oh, wait….
GGG just STFU! This is yet another way of lazy Bermudians getting another paid vacation day from already hurt employers! We need to get rid of the unions and put the control in employers hands and anyone who does not show up get no pay or a pink slip! Set the tone and the workers will toe the line!
