BPS Comment On WhatsApp Message Circulating

Noting that a WhatsApp message is being circulated “which contains allegations about a person of interest to police,” the BPS asked people “to not circulate the message” and added that “information regarding ongoing investigations involving persons of interest, should not be considered accurate or legitimate, unless that information is contained in an official BPS release.”

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] has been alerted to a WhatsApp message being circulated and which contains allegations about a person of interest to police.

“We wish to advise members of the public to not circulate the message should you receive it and instead, immediately delete it. Please be aware information regarding ongoing investigations involving persons of interest, should not be considered accurate or legitimate, unless that information is contained in an official BPS release.”
