November 22 2021 Covid Calendar Day

“As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change. The seven-day average of our real time reproduction number is below 1 [0.31]. Bermuda’s current country status is Community Transmission. Community transmission is characterised by an increased incidence of locally acquired, widely dispersed cases, with many cases not linked to specific clusters.

Minister of Health, Kim Wilson said, “Our latest results, show that we continue to have some new positive cases, and that’s why it’s still critical for the public to remain vigilant, particularly as we begin to enter the cooler months. Please continue to adhere to all the public health guidelines, which are in place to help keep residents safe.”

The Minister continued, “On another note, the Ministry has been receiving a number of inquiries about the seasonal flu shot. We can advise that we are planning to once again do our Flu Express which we are expecting to take place around the first week in December. The seasonal influenza [flu] vaccine will be available for priority groups through their doctor or the Flu Express. We will be sharing more details in the coming days regarding the full Express schedule.”

And as a reminder about the booster shot, the Minister added, “Boosters are still readily available for our eligible groups. Those residents can book an appointment on gov.bm by selecting ‘Book a Booster Vaccine Appointment’. Alternatively, individuals can call the Vaccination Hotline at 444-2498 [option #2] or email vaccine@gov.bm. For those who are 65 and older, they can simply walk into Pier 6 for a booster.”

“The Minister concluded by reminding, that each of us has a role to play in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Follow Public Health guidelines, wear a mask indoors, practice good hand hygiene, maintain physical distance and download the WeHealth Bermuda app.

“The Ministry will be changing its press release schedule from Monday, Wednesday and Friday to Monday and Thursday until further notice.”

  1. Question says:

How many of the cases never develop symptoms?

    • Ringmaster says:

That information would destroy the Government’s absolute control over the population. Even if there are no new cases the Emergency powers will still be in place in case a new case is reported. They can’t have the public making their own decisions. Science was left behind months ago, it’s all about making it up and sounding as if they know what to do. They can get away with “the optics didn’t look good” when they are caught out living a free lifestyle.

  2. The Sherriff would like to know why ” This Government” no longer says if the imported from overseas cases are residents or visitors?

Also why are school children still being forced to wear masks, when the rest of the world has woken up and stopped that nonsense except for ignorant democrat states in the US?

Lastly, Here in Florida, our numbers have dropped dramatically, and the reason is, the most people are outdoors because the weather is great, up north the numbers are increasing because it’s getting colder and people are gravitating indoors, when will the plp government ever get it that they should just end the mask mandates and encourage all to be outside as often as they can?

“why are school children still being forced to wear masks, when the rest of the world has woken up and stopped that nonsense”

First, no one is being “forced” into anything.

Second, the rest of the world has not “woken up and stopped that nonsense”.

Only yesterday the German health Minister predicted that everyone alive in Germany next spring will either be vaccinated or recovering. There is no middle ground for the ignorant.

You stay in Florida, “Sherriff”, where it is nice and safe. I will stay in Bermuda with our dangerously high number of infected people (25).

    • sandgrownan says:

And once again, you never fail to disappoint.

In Florida, 61,000 people have died of COIVD-19. Part of the issue is Gov. Death-Sentence and his refusal to allow mask mandates. Despite Floridian stupidity, vaccination rates are increasing, this is the primary cause of reduction in numbers in that state. A recent study, that I posted elsewhere has confirmed that mask-wearing is extremely effective at reducing transmission, reducing transmission rates by as much as 60%. It’s non-invasive, and painless.

Austria is heading back into lockdown, people are being urged in Northern Ireland to work from home again, and cases across Europe are starting to rise again. This will happen in the US too, because idiots like you, and idiots who vote for politicians like DeSantis, think this is “over” and “just like the flu”.

It didn’t need to be this way.

      • Question says:

Many highly vaccinated countries have gone back into lockdown. High rates of vaccination has not stopped the spread. Portugal, Austria, the Netherlands, Gibraltar, Germany.

  3. Elton Lloyd says:

When looking at the “Covid-19 Dashboard” above, there is 1 thing that stands out that the government must consider and adjust to. The dashboard states that 69% of Bermuda can be classified as fully vaccinated (2 doses). But research has shown that the vaccine’s effectiveness only last about 6 months. Thus the reason for the booster.

Should people that received there 2nd dose 6 months ago, or more, still be classified as fully vaccinated?

Shouldn’t there be a better way of indicating the “real” vaccination state of Bermuda?

The percentage of fully vaccinate or received a booster within the last 6 months is needed. This would give a better indication of the “real” vaccination state of Bermuda.

  4. Rig says:

Can we please now unmask the children, and lose the ridiculous safekeys for under 18s.

What are we doing here? This is madness.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

Feel free to unmask your children and lose your SafeKey. Just keep away from me and my family, including my granddaughter.

None of us need to get sick or die because of your ignorance.
