Field Hockey League: Longtails & Pirates Win
The Bermuda Field Hockey season got underway at the National Sports Center.
Longtails 1 Pink Robins 0
In the season opener the Longtails edged the Pink Robins 1 – 0, the lone goal of the game came in the 43rd minute off the stick of Maure Van De Berg.
Hawks 1 Pirates 4
In the 6th minute the Pirates took the lead when Donnie Simmons scored a field goal, and Simmons doubled the Pirates lead when he scored in the 27th minute.
The Hawks got themselves back into the game when Aaron Medeiros scored a field goal in the 37th minute, and Simmons then restored the Pirates two goal lead when he completed his hat-trick in the 46th minute.
The Pirates then got fourth goal in the 57th minute when Zakari Minors scored.
