Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this past weekend, with the North Village Rams, PHC Zebras, Hamilton Parish, and Boulevard Blazers all earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.
Premier Division
North Village Rams 3 – X-Road’s 0
At the Bernard Park, the Premier Division defending champions North Village Rams moved to 2 & 0 on the season following their 3 – 0 win over X-Road’s.
The North Village Rams took the lead in the sixth minute when Justin Bell scored from the penalty spot after being fouled in the box. Two minutes later it was 2 – 0 when Jaizel Smith-DeShields scored from close range.
The lead improved to 3 – 0 in the 65th minute when Owen Botelho scored.
Somerset Eagles 1 – PHC Zebras 6
At the White Hill Field, the PHC Zebras defeated the Somerset Eagles 6 – 1.
The PHC Zebras got single strikes from Keishon Bean, Marco Warrren, Shakhai Trott, Antwan Russell, De-Aun Lodge, and an own goal, while Ethan Fubler scored the lone goal for the Somerset Eagles.
St. George’s Colts 2 – Devonshire Cougars 2
At the Wellington Oval, the St. George’s Colts and Devonshire Cougars played to a 2 – 2 draw. The St. George’s Colts took the lead in the 32th minute when Osagi Bascome converted from the penalty spot, but in the 39th minute the score were leveled as Che’kai Caisey scored for Devonshire Cougars.
The St. George’s Colts went back in front in the 59th minute when Jarizinho Bassett put the home team ahead, but seven minutes later Lejuan Simmons scored for Devonshire Cougars from the penalty spot to level the score.
First Division
Vasco 2 – Young Men Social Club 2
After a scoreless first half at the Bernard Park, Vasco and Young Men Social Club played to a 2 – 2 draw. Substitute Jahmir Lewis Trott gave Young Men Social Club the lead in the 57th minute, less than 30 seconds after coming off the bench, but five minutes later Young Men Social Club was reduced to 10 men when Kelvon Butterfield was sent off for his second bookable offense.
In the 76th minute, Vasco drew level when Ryan Smith scored in the 76th minute. Three minutes later Vasco took the lead when Kyle Godfrey scored, but Clay Darrell equalized for Young Men Social Club in the 82nd minute.
Neither team found the net for the rest of the match as they shared the points.
Hamilton Parish 6 – Paget Lions 0
For the second week in a row, Hamilton Parish scored six times as they defeated the Paget Lions 6 – 0 at the Wellington Oval.
Jordan Outerbridge led the way with a hat trick, with Hamilton Parish also getting single strikes from Tahje Welch, Macquille Walker, and Shakeem Albouy.
St. David’s 1 – Boulevard Blazers 3
At Lord’s in St. David’s, the Boulevard Blazers defeated the home team 3 – 1.
Playing in their first match of the season, the Boulevard Blazers got two goals from Ian Coke and a single strike from Nazeem Augustus to earn the three points. St. David’s got a lone goal from I’yuan Smith.
