Results: Premier & First Division Football

Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this past weekend, with the Devonshire Colts, Somerset Eagles, Dandy Town Hornets, BAA, and Hamilton Parish all earning wins, while three other matches ended in draws.

Premier Division

X-Roads 1 – Devonshire Colts 2

At the Garrison Field, the Devonshire Colts edged X-Roads 2 – 1, with all three goals coming in the first half.

Devonshire Colts took the lead in the 25th minute when Jibri Salaam scored, Donavan Thompson equalized for X-Road’s in the 31st minute, but Devonshire Colts would retake the lead and it proved to be the winner when Rahzir Smith-Jones scored in the 43rd minute.

Somerset Trojans 1 – PHC Zebras 1

At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Somerset Trojans came within 90 seconds of defeating the PHC Zebras as the two teams played to a 1 – 1 draw.

The Somerset Trojans took the lead in the 9th minute when Damon Swan converted from the penalty spot, but in stoppage time Enrique Russell scored the equalizer for the PHC Zebras.

North Village Rams 0 – Somerset Eagles 1

At the Bernard Park, Somerset Eagles got an injury time winner to defeat the North Village Rams 1 – 0, Shakir Smith scored in the 94th minute.

Dandy Town Hornets 2 – St. George’s Colts 1

At the BAA Field, the Dandy Town Hornets edged the St. George’s Colts 2 – 1. The Dandy Town Hornets took the lead in the 5th minute when Angelo Simmons scored, they would double the lead in the 71st minute when Nizigh Spence found the back of the net, they would then concede their first goal of the season in the 86th minute when Tyrell Burgess scored for the St. George’s Colts.

Devonshire Cougars 0 – Robin Hood 0

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the Devonshire Cougars and Robin Hood played to a scoreless draw.

First Division

Boulevard Blazers 2 – BAA 3

At the BAA Field, BAA edged the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 2, BAA got two goals from Patrick Quinn, and a single strike from Andrew McDowall, while Ian Coke scored twice for the Boulevard Blazers.

Wolves 0 – Hamilton Parish 3

At the Wellington Oval, Hamilton Parish defeated Wolves 3 – 0. Jordon Burgess gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the 9th minute, Shakeem Albouy doubled the lead in the 31st minute. Macquille Walker rounded out the scoring with the Hamilton Parish third goal in the 64th minute.

Vasco 1 – Ireland Rangers 1

At the Southampton Oval, Vasco and Ireland Rangers played to a 1 – 1 draw. Ireland Rangers took the lead in the 12th minute when Zico Lambert scored, but Shaun Brown equalized for Vasco in the 68th minute.
