Results: Premier & First Division Football

Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were recently in action, with Devonshire Cougars, PHC Zebras, Boulevard Blazers, and Hamilton Parish all earning wins.

Premier Division

Devonshire Cougars 3 – Southampton Rangers 1

At the Devonshire Recreation Club, the Devonshire Cougars went in search of their fifth win of the season as they hosted the Southampton Rangers.

The first 45 minutes saw the Devonshire Cougars hit the upright four times, including a missed penalty attempt. They created many chances inside the Southampton Rangers box, but at the break they only had one goal to show for it. Zari Simmons scored through a maze of players in the 34th minute for the Devonshire Cougars.

Elisha Darrell doubled the Devonshire Cougars lead in the 48th minute, only for Cardel Henry to pull a goal back for the Southampton Rangers in the 53rd minute.

Domico Coddington then ended the match as a contest when he scored in 87th minute, making it 3 – 1 to the Devonshire Cougars.

PHC Zebras 3 – St. George’s Colts 2

The PHC Zebras entertained the St. George’s Colts at the PHC Stadium, with the home team edging the visitors 3 – 2.

The PHC Zebras took the lead in the 27th minute when Enrique Russell scored. Russell doubled the led in the 36th minute as the PHC Zebras took the two goal lead to the break.

The St. George’s Colts got themselves back into the match when David Signor scored in the 56th minute, only to have Na’Eem Griffith restore the PHC Zebras two goal lead in the 69th minute.

The St. George’s Colts pulled a goal back in the 80th minute when Tre McCallan found the back of the net, but neither team was able to score in the final ten minutes as the PHC Zebras took all three points.

First Division

Wolves 1 – Boulevard Blazers 2

At the Wellington Oval, the Wolves and the Boulevard Blazers went to battle, with the Blazers coming away with a 2 – 1 win.

The Boulevard Blazers took the lead in the 43rd minute when Tyree Robinson scored, but one minute later Kyle Brangman leveled the score for Wolves as the two teams went to the break level at 1 – 1.

The Boulevard winner came in the 82nd minute when Zaire Burchall scored, making it 2 – 1.

St. David’s 1 – Hamilton Parish 3

At Lord’s in St. David’s, the First Division league leaders Hamilton Parish took on St. David’s and remained undefeated following their 3 – 1 win.

Macquille Walker gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the 23rd minute. Deniche Hill doubled the Hamilton Parish lead with a strike in the 52nd minute.

Walker, who started the scoring in the first half, ended scoring for Hamilton Parish by making it 3 – 0 in the 74th minute, however St. David’s would not be denied getting on the scoresheet as Otis Minors scored in the 90th minute.
