Millions ‘Collectively Lost’ Due To Online Scams
“The amount of money people have collectively lost, locally, to these online scams is now in the millions,” the police said.
The Bermuda Police Service posted the graphic below online, saying, “We continue to get reports on an almost daily basis. In fact, the amount of money people have collectively lost, locally, to these online scams, is now in the millions. Follow the online safety guidelines provided by your bank or other financial institutions. Don’t become a victim.”
The graphic says, “We continue to see an uptick in cyber frauds and we are asking the community to remain vigilant. Be suspicious, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Avoid online communication with unknown persons.”
