Police Confirm Formal Complaint Made

[Updated] Noting they are aware of a video clip circulating “depicting an incident involving two minors,” the police have urged people to not pass the video clip on.

A police spokesperson said, “There is a video clip depicting an incident involving two minors, which is being circulated on social media. The video clip has been brought to the attention of the Bermuda Police Service.

“We ask that should you receive the video clip, you do not share it or forward it on and instead delete from your phone or other electronic devices.”

Update: Comment from the school, Warwick Academy, that two students attend here.

Update 9.51pm: The police said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can confirm that a formal complaint has been made regarding the video clip highlighting an incident involving two minor aged individuals and the matter is now being looked into.

“The video has elicited considerable comment from the community, some of which is concerning. There is also now being circulated, a screenshot of a statement supposedly written by one of the minors involved which appears to be having the same impact.

“The BPS urges members of the public not to let their emotions get the better of them and commit any acts that could result in prosecution.

“We again advise that should you receive the video clip in question, or the screenshot of the statement, you do not forward it on and instead delete it from your electronic devices.”
