Voting For City Christmas Window Contest Open
The City of Hamilton today [Dec 1] advised that public voting is now open for the City’s 2021 Christmas Window Decorating Contest.
A spokesperson said, “13 City businesses entered the festive competition this year, which sees awesome prizes awarded to winners for the best Christmas window displays, including a donation from the City to a charity of the winner’s choice.
“The City is excited to announce this year’s participating stores:
- Bermuda Bookstore
- Exclusive Home – Reid Street
- Mr. Chicken
- Pirates Port Limited
- 1609 Design
- Davidrose Studio
- DEMCO FLORIST
- Gibbons Company
- KFC Operations Ltd.
- Modblu Boutique
- Goslings Rum
- TABS Bermuda
- One Communications
“We are absolutely thrilled about the calibre of this year’s entries and want to thank those businesses for answering the City’s call to help create a magical Holiday spectacle for our island’s residents,” said the City’s Marketing Coordinator Sideya Dill. “With this contest, we wanted to do something that would end the year on a high note and have everyone feeling festive for the season and hopeful for what 2022 will bring!”
The City noted, “There are two judging categories –
- Best Christmas Window 2021 [selected by a panel of industry-relevant judges]
- People’s Choice [selected by the general public through a City-hosted voting process]
“To cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award, either scan the barcode displayed in any participating store window or visit the City’s website to cast your vote online with just one click.
“Voting opened today and will close December 15th at 5pm.
“Although voting is online, the City encourages voters to stop by the windows and view them in person to experience their full effect!
“The City is also delighted to reveal this year’s judging panel – Nijah Dyer, DeAzha Chambers, DJ Rusty G, Gabrielle Boyer and Nzingha Ming.
- Nijah Dyer is the Marketing & Events Specialist at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and has more than 10 years of experience in the field of Marketing & Events, having worked in the hospitality, legal, local insurance, and financial services sectors.
- DeAzha Chambers is committed to creating event visions that are memorable, impactful on a global scale, and unique experiences to Bermuda’s event stage through her business platform Oni & Grace Events of which she is Co-Founder.
- Gabrielle Boyer is the editor of The Bermudian magazine and loves celebrating the best our island has to offer.
- Nzingha Ming is the BSoA Gallery Director and has worked in Bermuda’s art industry for over nine years, coordinating exhibitions, art fairs and promotion for artists from Bermuda and North America.
- Our Celebrity Judge DJ Rusty G is a versatile DJ who has been voted the Best Club/Party /Event DJ for the Best of Bermuda Award on multiple occasions.
