Bermuda Moon Gate Tour Set To Get Underway
The first event of the inaugural Moon Gate Tour season has attracted many of the island’s top professional and amateur golfers and will be contested at the Port Royal Golf Course starting tomorrow morning.
A total of 30 players have signed up for the 18-hole medal competition, with newly-crowned Bermuda Professional Golfers’ Association Championship winner Nick Jones, reigning Johnnie Walker Classic champion Jarryd Dillas, and last year’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship participants Damian Palanyandi, Chaka DeSilva, and Brian Morris among the notable entrants.
Veteran professional Dwayne Pearman and multiple times amateur champion Will Haddrell are also included in the starting field.
Tour co-founder Chaka DeSilva said, “I think the response to our first event has been very positive. More than half of the players who competed in the Local Qualifier last October are in the field tomorrow, as well as all 5 of the locally based Bermudians who have participated in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The weather forecast looks great so I’m expecting to see a bunch of birdies and some good scores out there!”
