Zebras Claim Win, Colts & Trojans Draw

Footballers in the Premier Division were recently in action, with PHC Zebras defeating Robin Hood and the St. George’s Colts and Somerset Trojans’ match ending in a draw.

St. George’s Colts 1 – Somerset Trojans 1

The St. George’s Colts and Somerset Trojans played to a 1 – 1 draw at the Devonshire Recreation Club.

The St. George’s Colts picked up their third consecutive draw, while the Somerset Trojans picked up their second point in four matches.

After a scoreless first half, the Somerset Trojans took the lead in the 81st minute when Justin Corday scored a header from a Jaz Ratteray Smith cross. However, two minutes later, the score was level when Macai Simmons was able to score from just inside the box after Jahron Dickinson held off his marker to put the ball into the path of Simmons to score.

Robin Hood 2 – PHC Zebras 3

At the BAA Field, the PHC Zebras closed the gap on the league leading Dandy Town Hornets with a hard-fought 3 – 2 win over Robin Hood.

Antwan Russell gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 32nd minute and took that lead to the break.

Robin Hood was level in the 48th minute when Chae Brangman scored. Marco Warren scored from a free kick 20 minutes later to put the PHC Zebras back in front, however Tajai Goater equalized for Robin Hood yet again in the 75th minute.

The winner came in the 86th minute when league leading goal scorer Enrique Russell scored for the PHC Zebras.
