Brewer Helps Queens Win OUA Championship
Abigail Brewer and her Queen’s University Women’s Squash teammates won their seventh straight title at the OUA Championship at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
Having to play four matches in one day, Brewer and her teammates ran through the tournament with a record of 27-1.
Brewer was undefeated in her four matches not losing a game recording a score of 132 – 62.
Brewer and her teammates began the tournament with a 6 – 1 win over Western, Brewer playing in the number 6 singles spot defeated Anvita Dias 11-5, 11-7, 11-4, in a 15-minute match.
Queens faced off against Brock and won 7 – 0, Brewer moved up to the number 5 singles spot to take on Lydia Seif and defeated Seif 11-5, 11-3, 11-4 in 17 minutes.
Another 7 – 0 victory followed as Queens defeated Waterloo, Brewer went back to the number 6 singles spot for this match and defeated Tori Grootjen in a 17-minute battle 11-4, 11-9, 11-7.
In their final match, Queens defeated the University of Toronto 7 – 0, Brewer once again played in the number 6 singles spot and defeated Christine Yaromich in straight games 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 in a 16-minute match.
