Phil Matthews Appointed As Senior Valuer
Phil Matthews has been appointed as Senior Valuer within the Professional Services team, having joined Bermuda Realty in January 2022.
A spokesperson said, “Paul Matthews, Manager of the Professional Services Department at Bermuda Realty Company Limited which provides the following services to clients: property appraisals, property management [for condominiums, residential and commercial] and land surveying services has announced the company’s newest employee, Phil Matthews. Bermuda Realty’s two Senior Valuers are now Phil Matthews and Rob Newton.
“Phil has been appointed as Senior Valuer within the Professional Services team and joined Bermuda Realty in January 2022. He offers a wealth of property experience in the Bermuda Real Estate market. His main area of expertise is the valuation of residential and commercial real estate.
“Phil is a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors [MRICS] and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Property Management and Valuation gained in 2000 from The University of South Wales. He is also a Registered Valuer with the RICS and is entered on the Register of Professional Surveyors maintained by the Government of Bermuda.
“Phil has over 20 years’ experience in such disciplines as valuation, lease advisory, property management and dispute resolution in both the public and private sector both in Bermuda and the UK. Before coming to Bermuda in 2010, he worked for two large UK property consultants where he represented both private and institutional clients in valuation and lease advisory work.
“Since 2010, Phil has worked for the Government of Bermuda where first he was responsible for the Government’s Real Estate holdings and thereafter in 2016 in his role as Valuer within the Land Valuation Department, where he was responsible for the appraisal of both residential and commercial properties for various purposes. Over the years, Phil has gained an invaluable insight into the dynamics of the Bermuda Real Estate market.
“Phil is the fifth staff member at Bermuda Realty that holds the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors designation, the others being: President and CEO, Brian Madeiros, Director Arthur Jones, Paul Matthews and Rob Newton.
