Football: X-Roads, Vasco & BAA Win
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with X-Roads, Vasco, and BAA all earning wins.
Premier Division
St. George’s Colts 0 – X-Roads 1
X-Roads bounced back from their heavy defeat midweek to pick up a 1-0 win over the St. George’s Colts at the Wellington Oval.
The lone goal of this game came in the 26th minute when Timon Daniels found the back of the net.
First Division
Vasco 4 – St. David’s 2
Vasco became the final Bermuda Football Association Premier and First Division team to pick up their first win of the season as they defeated St. David’s 4 – 2 at the Southampton Oval.
Michael Armstrong gave Vasco the lead in the 13th minute, only for Nasaje Anderson to equalize for St. David’s in the 31st minute. Eight minutes later Vasco went back in front with Kyle Godfrey scoring to give them a 2 – 1 lead.
Lamaul Crofton extended the Vasco lead to 3 – 1 in the 61st minute, but Iyuan Smith pulled St. David’s within one when he scored in the 57th minute. Vasco secured the three points in the 86th minute when Daniel Teleman scored.
Ireland Rangers 1 – BAA 4
At the Southampton Oval, BAA came from behind to defeat Ireland Rangers 4 – 1 and move back into second place in the standings.
Zico Saltus-Seymour gave Ireland Rangers the lead in the sixth minute. Cole Summers equalized for BAA in the 38th, as the teams went to the break level at 1 – 1.
An own goal in the 59th minute gave BAA the lead. Riley Robinson gave BAA a two-goal lead in the 63rd minute, and then Shalom Cannonier put BAA three goals ahead when he found the back of the net in the 69th minute.
