‘Increase In Coronavirus Transmission On Island’

March 11, 2022

“We are beginning to see an increase in coronavirus transmission on island, and the current upward trend is worrying,” Minister of Health Kim Wilson said, adding that “this uptick does not take into consideration that there are many additional positive cases that are not being reported.”

Speaking at yesterday’s [March 10] test results, Minister Wilson said, “Although we now have fewer Covid restrictions, I must remind everyone this is no indication that Covid has gone away. We are beginning to see an increase in coronavirus transmission on island, and the current upward trend is worrying. This uptick does not take into consideration that there are many additional positive cases that are not being reported.

“Living safely with Covid means we must continue to follow public health guidance. Avoid closed spaces, crowded places and close contact settings. Wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, and maintain physical distance. Take an at-home antigen test before going to any events or out with friends and family.”

A full out event was held with multiple children and spectators and you expect no additional numbers of Covid….. How absurd. Many of the folks who attended did not have masks on and the 6 feet rule was no where to be found….. Not saying that this surge came from this event but its a good chance it could have…..

  2. Ringmaster says:

In other news the Premier has said he encourages hugging to counter the negative happenings and feelings in Bermuda. How is that social distancing? He and the Min of Health need to agree that we should ditch all restrictions and live a normal life.

So what? According to the trolls “it’s only Omicron”

  4. Triangle Drifter says:

No question about it. The numbers are highly unreliable. Why bother with them?

People are getting covid, testing positive, feeling like trash for a few days, no worse than a cold or mild flu, & not saying a word to anyone about it.

The smart ones are self isolating for the appropriate time doing their part to contain the spread.

It is time to lay off the army in the gowns & get back to normal.
