Photos: Kenneth Smith’s 100th Birthday
New centenarian Kenneth Smith received a visit from Premier David Burt at his home in Hamilton Parish as he celebrated his 100th birthday.
A spokesperson said, “Premier David Burt visited with Mr Kenneth Smith during his 100th birthday celebrations at his home in Hamilton Parish. Mr Smith was one of the Dockyard Apprentices in the 1930s and worked there for eight years during World War II.
“Mr. Smith is a well-known musician. He led the Aldano Sextet, as was the drummer for the Band. The Band played and hosted dances in every Bermuda club, hotel, church hall and on the former US Kindley Air Force Base. Mr. Smith received the Queen’s Certificate for his community service. Bermuda’s newest Centenarian enjoyed an afternoon of fun with family and friends. Congratulations Mr Smith.”
