Self-Care For Success Brunch At Rosewood

One of the things I’ve thoroughly missed in the last two years is fellowship and networking with like minded women. I love conferences, retreats, live workshops, etc. Of course due to the pandemic, everything had to take place virtually for almost two years now. Thankfully, we seem to be at the end of the tunnel.

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Self-Care for Success Brunch at Rosewood Bermuda hosted by Mikaela Denbrook, Marketing Manager of Gosling’s Bermuda. The brunch included unlimited Perrier Jouet Champagne, a fabulous brunch buffet, an awesome lineup of speakers and stunning decor by Dasfete.

I walked in and was handed an envelope and then a glass of Perrier Jouet Blason Rosé Champagne. Now, I love champagne but rosé champagne is even better. It was off to an excellent start.

I did a quick scan of the set up – an affirmation wall, stunning florals, a beautiful champagne bar and just a wonderful, inviting atmosphere. I was quickly escorted to my seat and got ready for the incredible lineup of speakers.

The eight women to grace the stage all had an area of self-care to talk about: Dr. Amne Osseyran spoke about physical self-care, Dayla Burgess spoke about mental self-care, Suzanne Khan spoke about spiritual self-care, Kristin White spoke about environmental self-care, Tyka France spoke about social self-care, Risa Hunter spoke about emotional self-care, Necheeka Trott spoke about recreational self-care and Keema Perry spoke about financial self-care.

A few of the messages really resonated with me. Ms Burgess talked about how self-care isn’t a luxury, but rather a necessity and encouraged the audience to pour into themselves first before pouring into others.

Ms Khan encouraged the audience to slow down and romanticize life because spiritual self-care is maintenance of the soul. Ms Trott, an avid traveller, talked about leaving your comfort zone in order to live life to the fullest.

Ms France encouraged the women to embrace more pleasure and took her shoes off on stage, which prompted laughter from the audience. Ms White told a hilarious story of an adventure in Namibia with Raleigh Bermuda and encouraged us to do things that scare us a bit.

And Ms Perry encouraged the audience to stop being overworked, overstretched and overwhelmed so they can open up their hearts to receive everything they desire.

Once the speakers were finished, it was time to eat. The gorgeous buffet included breads, salads, sushi, chilled seafood, meats and sides, mini desserts and more. DJ Star Commodity kept the fun going and everyone dancing once the plates were cleared.

I have to give a shout to Serge Botteli and his fantastic food and beverage team at Rosewood Bermuda. I never had to ask for my glass to be refilled because the service was absolutely incredible and the buffet stayed fresh.

Overall, this was an incredible event and I’m so glad I attended. I received so much wisdom from the speakers and it was so nice to be out and about. Ms Denbrook outdid herself and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
