Shield, Friendship & Premier Division Results
Footballers in the Shield, Friendship Trophy, and Premier Division were recently in action, with the Young Men Social Club, PHC Zebras, and Dandy Town Hornets all earning wins.
Shield: Ireland Rangers 1 Young Men Social Club 3
At the Somerset Cricket Club, Young Men Social Club advanced to the Shield Semi-Finals following their 3 – 1 win over Ireland Rangers.
Friendship Trophy: PHC Zebras 2 Southampton Rangers 0
The PHC Zebras advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Friendship following their 2 – 0 win over the Southampton Rangers at the Somerset Cricket Club.
After a scoreless first half, Antwan Russell gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 78th minute, Russell had a shot from the top of the box that hits the underside of the bar and bounces in.
Russell doubled the lead in the 86th minute, this time scoring from close range following up on a rebound.
Premier Division: Dandy Town Hornets 3 North Village Rams 1
At the BAA Field, the Dandy Town Hornets defeated the North Village Rams 3 – 1 to open up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier Division.
Kamali Davis gave the Dandy Town Hornets the lead in the 14th minute, Nizigh Spence doubled the lead five minutes later. The North Village Rams pulled a goal back in the 30thminute through an Ian Simmons goal, but three minutes later Enrique Swan restored the Dandy Town Hornets two-goal lead making it 3 – 1.
The second half saw no goals as the Dandy Town Hornets moved onto 43 points.
