129,931 Total Vaccinations, 74.1% Had 2 Doses

As of April 16, Bermuda has administered a total of 129,931 vaccinations, 74.1% of the population has received two doses and 72.6% of those eligible for a booster have received it while 7.8% of those with a booster have received a second booster dose.

In releasing the latest test results, a Government spokesperson said, “Since January 11, 2021, Bermuda residents have received a total of 129,931 vaccinations.

“Of the 129,931 vaccinations given as of April 16, 2022:

  • 52% are women and,
  • 48% are men

“87.0% of all residents over the age of 65 years have had at least one vaccination and 85.7% are fully immunized.

“To date, 75.6% of the population has been vaccinated [1 dose], and 74.1% of the population has been immunized [2 doses].

“72.6% of those eligible for a booster have received their booster, and 7.8% of those with a booster have received a second booster dose.”

Minister of Health Kim Wilson said, “We are seeing an increased interest in persons wanting to get the COVID-19 vaccine so that they can travel as summer approaches. Many people are eager to travel again, and most countries have vaccine requirements.

“If you want to be vaccinated, please register your interest as soon as possible on gov.bm/vaccines. The Crisson building on Front Street across from the #5 car park is open for vaccinations until April 29, Monday – Friday only. Walk-ins are accepted.

“COVID-19 vaccinations are also available at the Hamilton Health Centre, 67 Victoria Street, every Tuesday from 2 – 4 pm. These vaccinations are by appointment only, with no walk-ins. You can get your 1st, 2nd or 3rd dose. Call 332-8906 for assistance in scheduling an appointment, or you can book online at www.gov.bm/vaccines.”

    There is a plateau at 72% of the population. As a believer in vaccination, I find that unfortunate, but as a pragmatist I also recognise that as a fact we will not overcome
