Bulk Carrier Diverts Due To Sick Crew Member
The Wulin bulk carrier vessel — which was traveling to Morocco — diverted to Bermuda as one of their crew members needed medical assistance.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Friday 8th April, 7:50 am – Meyer agencies contacted RCC Bermuda to advise that the Hong Kong registered bulk carrier Wulin is diverting to Bermuda in order to land a sick sea farer. The ship had received medical advice from a doctor ashore by telephone.
“Later in the morning the ETA of Wulin was confirmed to be 3:15 pm, the transfer of the patient to the pilot boat St George was planned to take place at the deep draft position. The patient was transferred as planned and transferred to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“The ship continued passage to Nador, Morocco.”
