Survey: Proposed Changes To Educator Licenses

April 7, 2022

The Bermuda Educators Council is inviting the public “to engage in the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the licensure requirements due to come into effect on 1st September 2023″ via an online survey.

A spokesperson said, “In November 2021, the Bermuda Educators Council [BEC] elected a new Council and is currently going through restructuring to serve our stakeholders better. One of our mandates is to review and amend Professional Licensure requirements.

“Pursuant to the Bermuda Educators Act, 2002, all educators must be licensed before teaching in Bermuda’s schools. The process for licensure ensures that educators meet specific standards in their subject areas, pass required background checks and complete a teaching practicum.

“We acknowledge that the education of students in Bermuda impacts all of us. Therefore, The Bermuda Educators Council invites all stakeholders, including the general public, to engage in the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the licensure requirements, due to come into effect on 1st September 2023. The deadline for feedback on the survey is 22nd April 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Please lend your voice.

“On behalf of the Council, we thank you for completing the survey in advance. Click here to access the Bermuda Educators Council Professional Licensure Stakeholder Feedback Form.”
