Over 1700 Sign Petition To End Travel Form

An online petition has been launched calling for an end to Bermuda’s Covid-19 Travel Authorisation [TA], with the petition attaining over 1700 signatures as of this writing.

The petition, which launched five days ago, says, “All Bermudians wish its government to get rid of the TA.”

Comments on the petition by users include one saying “I want to travel and others [tourists too] without any issues coming here,” another saying “there really is no logical reason for it” while other comment said “It’s no longer necessary and it’s now hurting our tourism industry. It’s time to stop it asap.”

    This has no practical reason to exist, I mean what is really happening with the information?

    Its a revenue stream for a bankrupt Government, let’s not confuse this with public health.

    Time to stop this nonsense.

    Well if someone’s making money on this and is in a position within the government to perpetuate this ( aka “ milking it” ), this petition-however much we all want this waste of time and money to stop- won’t do anything…

    Good grassroots effort.

    I think it’s time however to ‘ drain the swamp’ on A larger scale!

    And…..as usual the timing of an announcement that 50 KEMH staff were “exposed” or contracted COVID matches the announcement of angst against the TA.

    I note that the article simply groups the 50 together…close contacts and those who caught the virus….
