Bermuda Charge To Feature Local Entertainers

June 21, 2022

The Scooter Mart Bermuda Charge event on July 3rd is set to feature a host of local entertainment including Mr Fotogenik, St George’s Original Dancerettes, Kallie Marcus and Diamond Dill of Natural Movement, the Bermuda Jump Rope Federation, and the Vision School of Dance.

Whitney Butterfield, Bermuda Charge Event Committee said, “This year’s Scooter Mart Bermuda Charge auto show and charity ride-out has been blessed with tremendous support from local performers. We named the show Motor Fest and set out with the intention of bringing a lively and bustling atmosphere to Front Street on 03 July.”

“We had already booked Mr Fotogenik to bring the energy as our MC, and the St George’s Original Dancerettes to close the show with an exciting live performance and a heart-warming rider salute. But as news of the festival got around, we received calls from four other local performers volunteering their teams!”

“We quickly embraced their enthusiasm and have now confirmed live shows for Kallie Marcus and Diamond Dill of Natural Movement [aerial acrobatics and stilt walking], Project Ride-Out [big wheel BMX show], the Bermuda Jump Rope Federation, and Vision School of Dance, who will open the show! We’re so thankful for these groups who have committed to rehearsal time and performances to thrill spectators! It truly demonstrates the team spirit that our island is known for.”

“Many of the live performances will take place in front of the Flagpole, which will be the main stage for the show. To the West, the festival will encompass the OneComm Eco Village, featuring 13 tents showcasing environmentally friendly vehicles, products and services.

“One of the big attractions on display will be a dancing Tesla Model X, from Piece of the Rock Limousines, and enthusiasts will be able to get inside the unique EV for a rare Tesla experience. Greenrock, the charity partner for the show, will also be positioned here to highlight the initiatives underway to accelerate the island’s sustainable future.”

“To the East of the Flagpole, onlookers can expect to see Bermuda’s motoring culture and history in a colourful and vibrant exhibition. Hundreds of show condition mopeds, scooters and motorcycles, and dozens of custom and classic cars, will be on display in the middle of Front Street. Several of them will compete for the Best in Show awards and $3,000 cash prize pool.

“The show vehicles will be flanked on either side by 25 tents displaying automotive products and services, and the winning bikes will be displayed on a red carpet at the prize presentations. Bermuda Charge is also working closely with all the Bermuda motorsport clubs to put together an impressive display and promote motorsports within the community.”

“The festival, which is free of charge to spectators, is expected to be busy with local onlookers as well as crowds from the two cruise ships in port on the day.

“To amplify the support received from our local performers, the show sponsors are turning up with great community spirit to hand out an array of free items to visitors, including shirts from Scooter Mart, beach towels and sunglasses from OneComm, shirts and sun umbrellas from Cardoso Customs & Repairs, and shirts, hats and metal water bottles from Greenlight Energy. Visitors to the Greenlight Energy tent can also claim $2,000 off a Tesla Power Wall for their home, only on the day of Motor Fest.”

“Families will find plenty of entertainment, including a free fun castle, roller skate rentals and face painting for the kids. There will be vendors for snowballs, hot dogs, popcorn and more.”

“The pinnacle of the show will be the charity ride-out, and with up to 300 riders anticipated, the noise and the atmosphere as they line up to await the signal will be something that has never been seen or heard on Front Street before. For a full schedule of the day, head to bermudacharge.com.”
