2022 Bermuda Youth Film Festival Winners
Bermuda Youth Film Festival recently held its first festival screening at BUEI and also announced the winners of the festival.
A spokesperson said, “The intention of the festival is to encourage young people between the ages of 11 and 18 from across Bermuda to feel inspired to share their stories in film. Bermuda has the potential to create something really special for our island by fostering the arts and filmmaking. ”
The founder of the Bermuda Youth Film Festival, Saltus teacher Therese Bean, said, “It has been exciting to have Brooke Williams, Rashun Robinson and Andrew Kirkpatrick on board as our industry judges. The Bermuda Youth Film Festival hopes to inspire the next generation of filmmakers to continue to build this creative energy in our own special paradise.”
The awards and winners are listed below:
- Best Film – Too Young for Romance [Zen Marley Mello – CedarBridge]
- Best Production [Cinematography & Editing] – Cookie Chaos [Jessica Bucher – Saltus]
- Best Documentary – Importance of Sleep [Harmony Seymour – BHS]
- Best Narrative – Too Young for Romance [Zen Mello – CedarBridge]
- Best Middle School Film – Importance of Sleep [Harmony Seymour – BHS]
- Best Actor – Cookie Chaos [Jessica Bucher – Saltus]
- Best Actor: Zander Mosquera – Shoreline [Sienna Mosquera – Saltus]
- Best Use of the Signature Item – Day in the Life of a Teenage Phone [Sarah Marshall – BHS]
- Best Sound – The Backstage Horror [Patrick Johnson – MSA]
- Best Graphics – Diversity [Logan Arruda – MSA]
- Best Genre Film – Attack of the Easter Bunny [Lily Phelan & Ethan Fox – Saltus]
- Up and Coming – Bermuda’s One and Only Ice – [Jamie Cedenio – Warwick]
