Premier Meets With Lammy, Doughty & Collins
Premier David Burt met with British Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Shadow Minister for Foreign, Commonwealth + Development Affairs Stephen Doughty and Lord Collins of Highbury to “discuss the return of passport printing to the Bermuda Government.”
The UK took over the printing of British Overseas Territories passports back in 2016, which was not a position welcomed by most the Territories.
Premier Burt tweeted the photos below, saying: “This morning we met with Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Shadow Minister Stephen Doughty & Lord Collins to discuss the return of passport printing to the Bermuda Government to assist with the issues being faced by hundreds of Bermudians due to the @GOVUK decision to take printing from OTs.”
Mr Doughty tweeted, “Excellent to meet this morning with Bermuda Premier to discuss a range of issues affecting Bermuda – with Lord Collins, David Lammy – a strong friendship and partnership.”
