Driver Injured In Car Crash In Devonshire
[Updated] A car crash occurred along Middle Road in Devonshire this morning [June 4].
A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:30am Saturday, 4th June 2022, a reported single vehicle car crash occurred along Middle Road, Devonshire in the vicinity of Fort Hill Road.
“Details are limited at this time. However, it appears that the car involved struck a wall.
“Traffic diversions are currently in effect at Montpelier Road and Orange Valley Road until further notice, while the scene is processed. Any witnesses are encouraged to call 211.”
Update: A police spokesperson said, “Traffic diversions are no longer in effect at Montpelier Road and Orange Valley Road In Devonshire.
“Inquiries continue regarding the circumstances of this morning’s reported single vehicle car crash in the Middle Road, Fort Hill Road Devonshire area.
“The driver is believed to have sustained head and neck injuries. An update on their medical condition is anticipated in due course.
“Once again, any witnesses are encouraged to call 211.”
Update June 6, 9.50am: A police spokesperson said, “It now appears that the car involved was being driven west along Middle Road, Devonshire around 9:30am Saturday, 4th June 2022 when it struck a wall near the junction with Fort Hill Road.
“The driver, said to be a 40-year-old Devonshire man, had to be assisted out of the vehicle by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel as well as ambulance personnel.
“He was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and apparently received treatment for head, neck and chest pain, before being discharged later that day.
“Inquiries continue and witnesses or members of the public with any information are still encouraged to call 211.”
