Vessel Towed Back After Running Out Of Fuel
A 20 foot powercraft was towed back to shore after becoming “disabled after running out of fuel.”
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Monday 30th May, 3:51pm – Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre receives a 911 telephone call from a concerned relative of a person onboard a 20 foot powercraft reportedly disabled at Challenger Bank. The local boat with 2 persons onboard became disabled after running out of fuel.
“Bermuda Radio undertakes broadcasts on Marine VHF Channel 16 requesting assistance and a reply is received from a nearby 40 foot fishing vessel who is able to rendezvous with the disabled vessel and take them in tow back to the Jews Bay public dock.”
