Xpressions To Host Intensive Arts Mentorship
Xpressions is getting set to host an eight-week Intensive Arts Mentorship for teens aged 13-15 years.
A spokesperson said, “Teens, this summer it’s all about you. Xpressions typically offer summer camps to children aged 5-12 years. This summer we are seeking to service teens aged 13-15 years by hosting an Intensive Arts Mentorship for eight weeks.
“A workshop-based approach that will expose each cohort to different artists, mediums, techniques and skills. Only 10 teens will be able to participate weekly, with one spot subsidized specifically for an at-risk teen who is unable to afford to attend but would benefit from the positive exposure and impact we hope to provide.
“This is not a camp. This is a mentorship.
“Xpressions truly believes in community outreach and building a sustainable village to help raise Bermuda’s children to be the greatest versions of themselves. We’ve called on mentors from all walks of life to come and share with each weekly cohort. We want to provide each cohort with as much exposure to the arts as possible.
That includes and is not limited to artistic mediums, artistic styles, artistic techniques, artistic influence, career insight, entrepreneurship coaching, etc. This will provide invaluable experience, intended to impact and encourage each cohort to step outside of their comfort zones and begin exploring the world with bold autonomy and know-how. Every day of the Intensive is to be different but even more engaging, packed full of creative energy in multifaceted ways and in various different locations.
“Xpressions Garage will be our on-site hub for all things creative. A special space that will ignite each teen’s passions and catapult their productivity and ingenuity. Here they will explore and express via different workshops, hosted by our onsite artist and/or guest artists and mentors who have volunteered their time to give back to our future.
“We can’t forget adventure. Living in Bermuda with our unique landscape means opportunity for exploration is vast and we will be taking advantage of all the nooks and crannies we typically overlook. Our off-sites will provide our teens with creative, fun and age appropriate activities that keep them engaged positively, fueling their creative thinking and abilities.
“Here at Xpressions, everyone is an artist, because that’s the truth. We believe everything is art and we are all artists. There is no room for judgment or criticism in our space, neither limits nor boundaries when expressing. Allow us to impact your teens this summer by providing them with the ultimate summer experience to learn, grow and explore all things creative.
“Our Intensive will run for eight weeks, beginning the week of 4 July 2022, ending the week of 29 Aug 2022. The cost is $300 per week which includes all workshops, associated materials, field trips and transportation.
