Golf: Oliver Betschart Places 2nd In Switzerland
Oliver Betschart competed in the Under 14, 2 day Swiss Golf National Championship, July 18th -19th, which was hosted by Swiss Golf at the Golf Park Zurichsee.
A spokesperson said, “Set in the beautiful backdrop of the mountains, in 85+ degree temperatures Oliver was one of 80 players in his age group, that took part in 2 day tournament.
“He shot a 75,3 over par on the 1st day, 3 bogies 1 triple and came back with 3 birdies on the back nine to post a respectable score which put him tied 3rd place going into the final day where he posted a 71, 1 under par finishing solo 2nd place, signing off on the final hole with a birdie, carding 3 birdies and 2 bogeys for a total score of 146, 2 over par.”
“This was a challenging course with lots of elevation changes specially on the back nine, some very narrow fairways, you just had to know where to place the ball in order to avoid trouble. The greens were soft but very fast, much different than Scotland where I played last week, where everything was hard and fast,” Oliver said.
