Emma Keane has torn a ligament in her ankle and will miss the remainder of the squash competition at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Keane sustained the injury after slipping on the court during her straight sets defeat to Georgia Adderley, of Scotland, in the round of 32 at the University of Birmingham Hockey and Squash Centre yesterday.

Micah Franklin, the Bermuda squash coach, told Bernews: “After chatting with our physios this morning, we have decided that Emma will have to withdraw from the Plate Competition draw this evening. It’s very sad for Emma.”
