Bermuda swimmers Madelyn Moore and Emma Harvey will compete this afternoon [July 30] in the semi-finals of their respective events in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Both swimmers were in action at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre this morning, with Moore finishing third in her 50 metres freestyle heat in 25.86sec – her season-best time.
Harvey, competing in the 100 backstroke, finished fourth in her heat in 1min 4.17sec. Moore placed sixth in the same heat in 1:04.84 and did not reach the semi-finals.
Speaking about her performance in her 50 freestyle, Moore told Bernews,“I’m so proud of that swim. I thought I’d be a bit intimidated by the crowd, but I was just super-excited to get in and start the race.”
