Bermuda swimmer Madelyn Moore talks with Bernews about her upcoming races at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Speaking at the traditional flag-raising ceremony at the athletes’ village yesterday, Moore said: “I had a few hiccups with the travel, but since being here and getting in the pool, getting with the team, it’s been absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so lovely.

“I love going to big meets like worlds, but when you have a big team, it’s amazing to have everyone getting behind each other.”

She added: “It’s been a great season. I was [Western Athletics Conference] Swimmer of the Year for the second year in a row, which was awesome; [I've had] quite a few school records and one national record. All of my training has led to this moment. I’m excited about what I can do.”

Moore is scheduled to compete in the 100 metres butterfly, 100 backstroke, 50 free, 50 butterfly, and 50 backstroke.
