Taxi Driver Strikes Utility Pole In Paget

A taxi driver struck a utility pole on South Road in Paget this morning [Aug 13].

A police spokesperson said, Shortly after 5:00am on Saturday 13th August, police responded to a single vehicle collision on South Road, just west of South Roundabout in Paget, involving a taxi.

“On police arrival, it was ascertained that a taxi had struck a utility pole in the area.

“The male driver of the taxi was not reported to be injured and had left the scene prior to police arrival.

“As a result the portion of road between South Roundabout and Stowe Hill will be temporarily closed, to allow BELCO crews to make repairs.

“Motorist are advised to take alternative routes.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to call 211.”

    Lawd knows the crash was no fault of the taxi driver.
