Archers Compete In CAC Games Qualifiers

Bermuda archers began competing in the VIII Copa Merengue which is a World Ranking Event and is the Second Qualifier Tournament for the Central American and Caribbean Games.

The tournament is being held at the Archery Facility at the Parque del Este sports complex in Santo Domingo.

In the Recurve Men’s Division after 72 Arrows, Camerin Pickering leads the Bermuda group and he is in 10th place with a combined score of 629, after the first 36 arrows, Pickering shot 323, he then would shoot 306 with the second 36 arrows.

Also in the Recurve Men’s Division, Bernard Wade III is in 21st with a combined score of 593, he had scores of 297 and 296, Jaydon Roberts had scores of 291 and 257 to finish with a combined score of 548 and is in 26th place.

Robin Selley is competing in the Recurve Women’s Division, after 72 Arrows, Selley has a combined score of 564, she is in 15th place, this after scores of 269, and 295.

In the Men’s CAC Games Qualifiers, Pickering currently is holding down the 6th place spot, Wade III is 13th, and Roberts is 17th.

Selley is in 7th place in the Women’s CAC Games Qualifiers.

In the Recurve Men Teams Division after 216 Arrows, Bermuda’s Men are in 5th place with a combined score of 1770 points, while in the Recurve Mixed Team Division after 144 Arrows, Selley and Roberts have a combined score of 1193, and are in 6th place.
