Boat Trespasses In Airport Marine Exclusion Zone

A local fishing vessel “operating in Castle Harbour was trespassing within the airport marine exclusion zone” and “the incident remains under investigation.”

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service contacted Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre, advising a local fishing vessel operating in Castle Harbour, was trespassing within the airport marine exclusion zone.

“Airport security had originally contacted the police and were able to advise the boat had subsequently left the exclusion area, later in the morning the vessel was located by the RBR Coast Guard and the incident remains under investigation.

“This incident serves to remind the marine boating public, that a strictly enforced marine exclusion zone exists 100 yards from the airport perimeter.”
