Football: Paget Lions & Somerset Trojans Win
Footballers in both the First Division and Premier Division were in action this weekend, with Paget Lions and Somerset Trojans both earning wins.
First Division
Ireland Rangers 2 – Paget Lions 4
At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Paget Lions came from a goal down to defeat Ireland Rangers 4 – 2.
Leo Burgess gave Ireland Rangers a 1 – 0 lead, but Antwan Russel equalized for Paget in the 14th minute when he converted from the spot, before Dion Stovell gave the Paget Lions a 2 – 1 lead when he found the back of the net in the 38th minute.
Rakeem DeShields would give the Paget Lions a 3 – 1 lead when he scored in the 49th minute, Stovell would add his second goal of the game in the 84th minute to make it 4 – 1, before Jahnai Rattery found the back of the net in the 90th minute to pull Ireland Rangers within two.
Premier Division
Somerset Trojans 2 – Hamilton Parish 1
The Somerset Trojans came from behind to defeat Hamilton Parish 2 – 1 and pick up their first league win of the season at the Somerset Cricket Club.
Jarye Bean gave Hamilton Parish the lead in the 13th minute, and they would take that lead to the break.
The Somerset Trojans drew level in the 57th minute when De Andre Wainwright found the back of the net, the winner would come through an own goal in the 61st minute earning the Somerset Trojans the win.
