Rowers Set For Argus International Gig Regatta
More than 70 rowers will take to the waters of Bermuda for the Argus International Gig Regatta.
Organised by the Bermuda Pilot Gig Club, the three-day event, featuring local and visiting British crews, starts on Sunday with the Spanish Point Challenge, a men’s and ladies’ race in the Great Sound from 9.30 am to 4 pm.
Up next will be the St George’s Sprint, a mixed crew race in St George’s Harbour, from 1 pm to 5 pm on Wednesday, October 26.
The third and final race will be the Mangrove Bay Finale, a men’s and ladies’ race from 9.30 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 29.
The closing party and awards presentation will follow at Sandys Boat Club in Somerset Village at 5.30 pm.
It has been four years since the BPGC hosted the international regatta, as the biennial event was postponed in 2020.
The event is sponsored by Argus, the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Axis, Chubb, and added support from John Barritt & Son.
